Today, for Try-it Tuesday, I give you the super-easy, super-cute, and super-why-didn’t-I-think-of-that-it’s-so-brilliant…

 Button Bobbies:

All you need is some bobby pins, some glue, and some pretty buttons.

I hit the jackpot last week when I posted on Facebook about needing some buttons for the Super Night with Super Mom event, and my MIL suggested that my GMIL (that’s grandma-in-law) might have something I could use.

Boy, did she ever! A huge tin + a bag full of vintage buttons!

I sifted, sorted, and cackled with glee at such an unexpected bounty of buttons and then dumped the ones I chose in a bath of warm water and dishwashing detergent.

Next up: fish them out, dry them off, add a dab of glue (I used Glen, my trusty, if unattractive glue-gun, of course) to the back of the button, and immediately press the curved end of the bobby pin into the glue.

Then don’t. touch. it.

Yes, this is a super-easy project, but it’s also fairly easy to bungle if: a) your buttons are dirty or greasy (the glue won’t hold), or 2) you wait too long to attach the bobby pin after applying the glue.

After a little trial and error, though, I ended up with a whole lot of vintage loveliness…

Christmas in the Country

I’ve frequented Jodi’s great sale for years now, as I mentioned in this post, but I’m a handmade seller for the first time this year and will be offering my vintage button bobbies as well as some linen flowers, paci tethers, and other cuties.

Not only are there loads of other beautiful handmade items, but there are plenty of fetching vintage finds, furniture, and knick-knacks for browsing and buying.

And here’s the best part:

100% of the proceeds from every single item I sell are going to:

five days five ways | because every day is different

If you’re local, I’d love to have you stop by, say hi, and maybe buy something lovingly handcrafted (I know, I’m shameless) to support a really great cause!

P.S. I’ll be updating the giveaway items tomorrow (there have been some fabulous additions that make the prizes even better!), and I’ll also be giving you our total $$$ raised to date!

P.P.S. Get ready for Round 2 of “Shop My Closet for Good!” Two words: CUTE SHOES.

P.P.P.S. The theme for this week’s

five days five ways | 5 Things Thursday

is whatever-you-darn-well-please. This week has been a bit too hectic for me to develop a cohesive theme, so randomness it is!
