Labor Day?

Hey guys!

So, we had quite the busy morning around these parts.

After getting up at dawn-thirty and running around like oh-so-many headless chickens, we dropped the kids off with Grandma (Shaun’s mom) so we could do that photo shoot that I mentioned getting rained out last week.

Although I would love to have the twins here in the flesh rather than still kicking around in my belly, I’m really glad we managed to squeeze in a shoot before they came.

I’ve never done professional prenatal pics before, and I can’t wait to see how they come out (and show them to you).

Despite the fact that it was too hot to be described by polite language at 10 AM, we managed to have a great time (although my one wardrobe change was touch-and-go; wriggling into skinny jeans inside a sweltering van while 8+ months pregnant with twins is a feat I hope never to duplicate).

Either way I think we got some fun shots (hopefully, they translate well from my brain to the actual camera), and it’s yet another thing on the “list” that got checked off before the twins’ grand entrance.

As we were driving home, I said something to effect of, “Welp, I joked about going into labor on Labor Day last week, and then I didn’t post this morning. I wonder if any readers out there are worried about me.”

No need for that, as it turns out, but it’s early yet, and I have never gone into labor before 5 PM.

So, we’ll just have to see how it goes…

(And no, I don’t actually feel any symptoms of imminent labor…I just can’t pass up the opportunity to tantalize you—and me—with the prospect on such an aptly named day).

Oh! And if you think of it, would you pray for a quick and fairly easy delivery?

I’m hoping for a natural birth, and while I’ve never had complications before, my labor “warm-up” phase is super-long, and I would love to have these girls out, safe and sound, as quickly (and painlessly!) as possible.

And because I don’t want to leave you stranded without a tidbit of Labor Day themed humor…here you go:

I make the babies

Okay, so that doesn’t have much of anything to do with Labor Day, but it does explain the pact that got me into this whole twins predicament in the first place, and it thoroughly cracked me up, especially considering that I’m the pregnant one hoping to go into labor today, and my husband is the one who has been working on stamping out a moth infestation in our pantry (yuck, I know) all week.

I’d say we’re both holding up our respective ends of the bargain quite well!

I love comments so much I'd actually consider making them my sixth kid if I could. Seriously. Love. And I read every single one and will do my darndest to respond, especially if you have a question. So, yeah. Comment away! I'm listening!
