Good morning, everybody!

Here’s the promised update from yesterday’s Labor Day List:

Not too shabby…and notice that I added “Pick up/vacuum” and “Help boys clean toy room” (that was an adventure all by itself!). Ironically enough, considering that yesterday was Move-it Monday, one of the things that I skipped completely was my workout. I’m making up for it today. And if you’re wondering how bathrooms get 1/2 cleaned, I have scrubbed toilets and wiped down sinks but have yet to tackle the tubs. Whew!

The 105 degree heat has finally broken here in Texas (and how! the low last night was 58!!!!!). I’m getting the urge to dig out my chunky knit sweaters and make myself a steaming cup of ho-cho, but then the reality of a high of 98 later on this week sinks in, and I have to tell my fall giddiness to back on up and wait. *Sigh.*

In other news, today is our first official day of home-schooling…ever. That’s right. Today, I embark into the home-schooling unknown with my 5-year-old, almost-4-year-old (and a 9-month-old baby somewhere in the mix…I’m expecting her to sing the ABC’s pretty soon here).  Feel free to pray for me.

Speaking of prayer, Texas in general could use some. When the Drudge Report headline reads “Texas on Fire,” that’s a bad way to be in the news.

There aren’t any fires close enough to where I live to be personally threatening, but the skies are hazy with smoke, and as close as 75 miles away, a mother and her 18-month-old died in a house-fire. So, so sad. It’s hard for me to even think about.

An awkward transition for sure, but the real purpose of today’s post is to let you know that I’m delivering on the promised ruffled ribbon flower tute (the same ribbon flower that I’ve included a pair of in The September Giveaway), but I’m getting to do it at Melissa of SoChick’s house!

She is celebrating the one-year anniversary of her handbag shop (you can read about how she got started in my interview with her from last week’s Feature Friday), and I get to help her party-on by contributing my tutorial. Woohooo! Congrats, Melissa!

Be sure to stop by her blog and check out the tute and other fun goings-on!

Here’s sneak peak of the finished product on my Della-girl. (Lots more of these pics…I got a little carried away!)

See you tomorrow for Wardrobe Wednesday and another round of Thrifted or Grifted!

P.S. If you didn’t see yesterday’s post about the new fitness linky I’m starting, make sure to read it so you can get your workout post all ready for next Monday! Can’t wait to see what you guys have been up to!

  2. We’re in E. Texas about 120 miles from Dallas, Sarah, and yeah. It is scary. A friend of mine posted on fb about the firemen putting out a fire 1 mile from her house. I soooo wish you could have sent that rain here too. I’ve forgotten what real rain looks like practically.

  3. Thinking of you in Texas. Not sure where you are, but we have family in the Beaumont and Dallas areas and lots of friends in Houston and surrounding area. Very scary right now. Definitely praying. Wish we could have sent all the rain we got this morning out west!

I love hearing from you guys!
