I’m still sitting here pinching myself and smiling after last week’s first ever Feature Friday Free-for-All!

273 links!

(Wooohooooo!)

You guys are PARTY ANIMALS!

I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to this week (you can also link old posts…I don’t mind a bit)

Before we get our party on, I’d thought I’d show you an update we made to the kitchen that I pretty much love:

Here’s the “before.”

I knew I wanted something different than those stools against that wall—preferably some sort of storage. I had a specific look in mind but, after checking at HomeGoods, Marshall’s, Craigslist, Goodwill, and all of my other usual haunts, I still came up empty.

Until I almost literally tripped over this piece at Hobby Lobby.

The perfect size for the space. The perfect neutral shade with just the right amount of variation to keep from being boring. The perfect amount of bottom shelf storage for cereal, sugar, and flour.

AND…

I even happened across these gorgeous vintage tins while browsing an indoor flea market in my hometown.

All four were only $10, and they look like they were made to go with that big gorgeous painting I scored at Ross!

I ♥ it mucho!

What do you guys think?

(You can see the entire kitchen reveal here).

Oh, and speaking of things I love, how about some of these amazing links from last week’s party?

Kendra from The Good Life jumped on the hugely popular book-page wreath bandwagon but added her own twist, and I just ADORE the pops of color she used (especially against that fantastic door)!

Cassie at Primitive and Proper turned her closet into a knock-out craft space, complete with this whimsical gallery wall.

Isn’t it too cute for words?

Stacey at Embracing Change transformed a dowdy old dresser into Nautical Neil. I love all the fun, happy colors!

This super-clever Pinecone Map Ornament from Barbara at Turtles and Tails just made me smile. Christmas may be over, but I could find a spot for this cutie all year round.

If you’re in the mood for repurposing something you might have lying around the house, be sure to check out these great Jenga Keychains shared by Ellen at Creative Passage.

BRILLIANT!

And because this party is called the Feature Friday FREE-FOR-ALL, I wanted to feature a few items that aren’t projects, per se.

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by Rachel’s blog, Grasping for Objectivity, do yourself a favor and head on over. Especially if you need a good laugh. She blogs about the mundane in a way that will make you nod in complete recognition while you laugh so hard you have to try not to pee your pants. Trust me, it’s worth taking a moment to read such gems as “A Romance Story,” which features this cute munchkin:

I loved how eloquently Betsy of Annanimmity expresses the benefits of blogging for her particular personality type in, “Confessions of an Introvert.”

And in our fashion category, this lovely Goodwill ensemble from Kendra of Good Life (again! this girl has got it going on!) caught my eye.

In case you don’t already know, I run a 100% thrifted style-blog called Secondhand or Bare Bottom, and 99.99% of my finds are from Goodwill, so you better believe that I appreciate a Goodwill score like that fab polka-dot skirt!

(Feel free to grab a button from the sidebar if you’ve been featured!)

A HUGE thanks to everyone who linked up last week and advance hugs to all of this week’s linkers.

Y’all rock!

Same “rules” as last week:

It’s a FREE-FOR-ALL!

If you’ve blogged about it, I want to see it!

So…

1. Link to your specific post URL instead of your blog URL (no limit on the number of linkies, so add as many as you like!)

2. Grab a party button so that others can join in the fun! (Text link-backs are great too! : )) five days five ways | feature friday free for all

3. Consider visiting/commenting on at least 2 of the other links. You never know what kind of inspiration you might miss out on if you don’t. Plus we all love to read words of encouragement! (I know I do!)

4. PLEASE, no shops or giveaways!

5. If we aren’t already friends, would you do me the honor of getting regular post updates here?:

or you can:

subcribe for email updates,

and/or join our Facebook page!

Just like last week, we’ll keep the categories simple:

  1. I went ahead and linked up…thanks so much for offering to feature it. I was a little afraid I’d forget to next week anyway. 🙂 I also went ahead and linked up today’s post as well. Nutella Cookies. Also I’m so glad I saw this post…I’ve been looking for a piece to fit in my kitchen for a coffee bar of sorts…been looking high and low and never thought to look at Hobby Lobby. Headed there pronto. Maybe I’ll get as lucky. 🙂 I’m a new follower as well.

  2. I love, love, love the additions to the kitchen. Those bins are so great and you’re right, they fit perfectly! Great finds all around Abbie.

  3. HI Abbie,
Wow – what great features, especially that owl kitchen! So glad I found you and linked up my Kitchen Collection and Owl Mantel. Thanks so much for giving our Impossibilities Challenge on your FB page. Can’t wait to see your “impossible”. Following along!

  4. I’m glad I was able to make it to your fantastic party this week…I can feel the excitement – what a great turn-out! Congrats and thank you for hosting.

  5. Goodwill is my favorite store, too!! So much so that my friends predicted what I was planning to do, and they forbade me to go there to get my Mother of the Bride dress for our daughter’s wedding last summer. Anyway, I like what I see around here, and you can count on me coming back again and again.

    Have a great weekend!
    Connie

  6. Doesn’t Hobby Lobby have some amazing furniture? That’s where my nightstands are from… and I love your vintage canisters!

  7. Hi Abbie! Thank so much for the party! Your new sideboard is AWESOME! And score on those canisters! Oh, how I love a great find…I just found a source for awesome EXPENSIVE designer fabric {in small yardages} for $1-2 a yard…SCORE!!!!

  8. Wow – thanks so much for the honorable mention!! I am quite flattered. You are too kind!!

I linked up one of my favorite (older) posts – the day my husband and I set out to make Meat Flowers. If only every day was a meat flower day…(sigh)
