Hey guys!

So…last week was less “Five days…5 ways” and more “2 days…2 measly blog posts.”

In other words, I was a very bad blogger.

Truthfully, it wasn’t even a planned break, but I have to admit that, as much as I love “talking” to you guys every day, it was kind of nice to live life without documenting it for a few days.

Still, in the interest of earning back my blogger cred, here’s a quick round-up of what we got up to last week:

I did a little crafting *while* playing the game of Life with the oldest 2 (although, Della did her best to make a mess of everything get in on the action).

The twins did a little snuggling…

…before engaging in a round of fisticuffs (I love the expression on Nola’s face as her fist crashes into her sister’s jaw).

20121105_181556 Balloons and laundry and screaming twins…OH MY!

{This was from the day we had our family photo shoot, which did not go as planned at all; yup, it looks about right}

This is what I ate as consolation for the failed family photos.

Della gave her stamp of a approval to her first real set of “puppy-dog ears” (Ezra tried to correct me by calling them “piggie ears”). I can’t believe she’s still not quite two-years-old. Such a fun little personality and so. much. hair!!!

We took a trip to Dallas with the twins, and I ducked into Anthro quickly to check out all the cool stuff that I had no intention of paying the big bucks for.

We ate really well while we were there. I especially loved this fantastic cashew chicken from Thai Star, the number one rated Thai food restaurant in the state.

In other news, the twins were a bit hit and miss last weekend. They started smiling (on the same day, at the same time, no less), which was pretty stinkin’ great. And we managed to watch a matinee of Skyfall (the new James Bond…I really liked it!) with both girls with us, and they hardly made a peep.

But at night, they were terrible. Since they’d slept most of the day while we shopped and drove around the city, they woke up in the evening cranky and disoriented, and they absolutely refused to stay asleep for longer than 45 minutes.

By the second night, I felt like a zombie working a conveyer belt line. One twin would wake up. I’d feed her. 20 minutes later, her sister would wake up. I’d feed her. And then the next twin would come by. And so on and so forth until the sun finally came up at 6:30 AM (I’ve never been more grateful for Daylight Savings).

The main problem was that I couldn’t let them fuss at all for fear of bothering our neighbors. Joy.

Fortunately, either as an apology or as an emphatic declaration of, “Yes! THIS is where we like to sleep!” both twins have gone to bed peacefully and slept through the night for the past two nights.

{Hallelujah!}

Which brings us to today, which is full of homeschooling, a little experiment I’ll hopefully be sharing with y’all soon, and BODYCOMBAT launch.

Which means I’d better get moving!

What have y’all been up to?

I’d love to catch up with you!

  1. Cookie dough ice cream and cashew chicken? Mmm!
    Looking forward to hearing a bit more about that photo shoot haha.

  2. I’m sure you hear this a lot, but imho, you are amazing to even be attempting ANY blogging/crafting/bodypumping with brand-new little twinsies! If the Energizer bunny became a mom, I think it would be your twin 😉 I remember too, too well the sleeplessness and total lack of energy I had when my last ONE was a newborn! So please don’t feel like you’re disappointing us by taking a day-or-two “off”– trust me, we understand… and are still in awe 😉 (Okay, stopping now before I sound like a total creeper…)

  3. Great to hear from ya’! I LOVE all the pics! The twins are adorbs and I could smile at a pic of them in every post 🙂 And did you come to my house and sneak that laundry pic (minus the twins)??…..cuz that’s what mine looks like ALOT! Thanks for sharing……it makes me feel better. Glad you got to get away……sorry the girls didn’t cooperate at night. I’m so amazed you made it through a movie….sweet! And Della’s hair is just too cute! Miss Audrey’s hair is blonde & curly…not quite as long. It is getting to the point where I’m gonna have to “fix” it everyday….definitely something that I’m not used to.

    Hubby & I got a date night Sat nite….lovely! Enjoyed “Wreck it Ralph” movie and dinner at Outback. Indulged in some Peanut Butter Pie & Bloomin’ Onion…..YUMMY! Back to better eating today.

    I got in some resale clothes shopping on friday w/ my SIL. The store said “upscale” resale. Some of the designer purses & shoes were still $150-$200! Yikes! But, not everything was high and I scored 3 brand name shirts for $40. Not Goodwill prices, but it made me happy still 🙂

    Have a Blessed Week!

  4. Love the photos – especially the laundry one… keeping it real! Sleep deprivation is the worst. Please accept a hug of sympathy. My week has been busy too, our oldest son is completing his final exams of year 12 here in Australia, so my role is to give him a kiss and a hug and say “do your best – we love you”… our daughter is in the final three weeks of Year 10. My hubby is still recovering from shoulder surgery and I have been busy working at my libraries – yes I have two jobs (crazy I know). In between times cooking, cleaning and driving kids to and from. I have got back into stitching red work which is fun and ticks off a box in my homemade Christmas gifts. Just imagine Christmas at your place this year!!!

  5. Funny thing is last week was the first time in a year that I had only posted ONE post for the week! I usually always try to do 2-3 or more. It was nice. I was able to get the house under control, and finish all the homeschooling. So wonderful. Looks like you had a fun week!

  6. Well I want to say something super encouraging like, way to go Super Mama! But…the truth is – you’re just a woman who is incredibly blessed AND empowered by God. And you have a lot of people praying for you. And you *are* highly capable. I loved this post – and missed you last week, but I’m glad you got a break.

    I would say let’s meet for lunch sometime, but truth is – I just wanna see those babies. 😉

  7. Beautiful girl, you are making my head spin with all your activity! (Oh wait – that could be partly ‘cos I have gone to sleep far too late each night for the past week). Love Nola’s cheeky grin! Tee hee hee.

  8. Too funny, if I had screaming babies, laundry all over the couch, etc, the last thing I would think to do is take pics of it. Love your presence of mind! Maybe next time I’ll try taking a picture in the middle of some craziness and see if it helps ; ) Love you Abbie!

I love hearing from you guys!
