Based on the title, you might have thought this post would be about the twins. But it’s not, more’s the pity…so sorry!

Back in June, I bought three pairs of sandals from LOFT. Three of the SAME pair of sandals…in different colors.

And at the time, I wrote this: “I’m not usually a ‘1 in every color, please’ kind of girl. I like variety too much.”

But then I posted this pic to Instagram after I folded up my birthday shopping haul and realized I don’t like variety that much.

stripes and polka dots

In fact, apparently, I really like stripes and polka dots. In my defense, although there are some multiples, most are (at least a little bit) different—long-sleeved, short-sleeved, sleeveless. One is a dress, and one is a night gown. Oh, and that one on the bottom left, I already owned.

Plus, the average price/item was about $6. Not nearly as good as my Goodwill deals, but I did have gift cards!

Still, apparently, I’ve really had patterns (and a similar color scheme) on my brain.

And after seeing the repetition (and after wearing one of the shirts with the semi-attached polka dots and the twins’ yanking 5 of them off likethat), I’m not sure I will keep everything. Thoughts?

So, tell me: am I the only one that gets home with a bag full of clothes that all look alike? It’s not a habit or anything (the bag full of clothes or the repetition). But I surprised myself with my consistency this time around.

  1. haha! I have the same problem! I love stripes & dots too 🙂
After I got a custom color analysis telling me which colors look better on me…..my problem has intensified. But, its a good thing! Now, I have many things in the same colors, but they all work really well together & mix/match like a charm. Makes getting dressed so much easier!

  2. I just ordered some clearance plus an extra 40% off stuff from American Eagle. When it came in I found that the shirt, cardigan, dress and scarf I bought were all a neutral cream color and I didn’t even realize it.. my husband and I had a good laugh about it

  3. I totally understand! One day at the beginning of the summer, I went to the thrift store looking for a yellow top and a green top, came home with five (FIVE) blue and tan print shirts. They would have looked lovely for a coordinated family photo…of me…five times.

  4. Every thing I buy, looks like every thing I already own! It makes getting dressed easy, because it all matches 🙂

  5. Once I was in a fair clothes and bought 5 blouses in 5 different stalls, when I got home I noticed that all the sweaters were equal just changed the colors and prints .. kkkk (google translator)

  6. I have a bad habit of collecting navy tshirts. I have at least 8. Now, they have different necklines and some of interesting details but nonetheless, all are navy tshirts.

  7. I am most definitely a creature of habit when it comes to my clothes. I have just about every color of v-neck tee, ribbed tank and cardigan from old navy. It’s pretty hard to screw up solids, so I stick with what I know! lol

  8. Every fall I have my own personal “No more gray cable knit sweaters” intervention. But undoubtedly someone will compliment one of my sweaters and it just feeds the addiction.

I love hearing from you guys!
