Several of you had expressed interest in knowing how my older children reacted to the addition of two brand new babies, so I thought I’d share my take on the long, arduous, excruciatingly difficult process.
You ready for this?
Step 1: Birth twins.
It’s kind of difficult to truly acclimate your children to their presence when the twins are still in your belly, so you’ve got to get them out. Even if it takes 5 days. Very important.
Step 2: Introduce older children to twins, and—this is the crucial part—let them hold them.

Step 3: Watch them fall in love.
I guarantee they’ll be pretty happy.
Okay, really happy.
